One 12 months after the Maui wildfire within the city of Lahaina, an iconic banyan tree is displaying indicators of life because of the efforts of arborists.

The 150-year-old banyan tree, which was shipped from India as a present to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the arrival of the primary Protestant missionaries to dwell in Lahaina, had been badly burned by the August 2023 wildifre.

More than 100 folks died in Lahaina on account of the hearth.
